Obituary for Kandace Kane Boyd (Kessler)

Kandace Kane Boyd age 62 of Kirksville, MO went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 15, 2023, with her loving husband by her side. Kandy was born on June 20, 1960 in Royal Oak, MI, the daughter of Neal E. and
Joann (Kraft) Kessler. She graduated from the Laconia Christian School in Laconia, NH and then attended Christ for the Nations in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX. She later attended Genesis Bible College in Santa Rosa, CA for a year before
continuing her Bible education in Oregon. While at Genesis she traveled with the worship band, holding concerts in the area. Kandy was united in marriage to Rick Boyd on September 12, 1987. Rick first met Kandy’s parents at a Vineyard Church Conference, later when they met they instantly fell in love. Following marriage they moved to Keokuk, IA where Rick worked and Kandy worked for the City of Keokuk and was actively involved with the Mississippi River bridge project. They later located to Newton, IA where she worked in Medical Records for the local hospital. The couple moved to Columbus, OH where Kandy served as an Administrative Assistant to the Children’s Pastor at the Vineyard Church in Columbus for nearly 20 years. They later moved to Memphis, MO where she worked at the Scotland County Hospital. Kandy was unable to regularly attend church with Rick but enjoyed the Bridge Church services from Ottumwa, IA on television. She loved to sing and attend dances, travel with her mother; visiting several countries, along with cooking and her and Rick loved eating out trying new restaurants. Kandy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Rick Boyd of Kirksville, MO, her father Neal E. Kessler of Bloomfield Hills, MI, her brothers; Kirtiss Kessler of LA, Kenny Kessler of ID, Kelly Kessler of NH and her mother-in-law Helen Dempsey of Keokuk, IA, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and her brother Kristopher Kessler. Cremation has been accorded and memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be given to the family’s choice and mailed to the funeral home. Casady-Luscan Funeral Solutions are honored to care for and minister to the Boyd
