Obituary for Wayne Norman Clay

Wayne N. Clay, 75 of rural Green Castle, Missouri passed away Monday August 5, 2019 and the Schuyler County Nursing Home.

He was born February 8, 1944 the son of George Gilbert Clay and Myrtle Belle (Mahoney) Clay in Green Castle, Missouri

Wayne is survived by his daughters, Penny Callahan of Kirksville, Missouri; Carol Cooper and fiancé Daniel Harrison of Novinger, Missouri; one son, David Wayne Clay of Kingdom City, Missouri; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Wilbert Clay of Green Castle, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda; his parents, sisters, Evelyn Redmon, Alice Martin, Juanita Anders; brother, William Clay.

Wayne was the outdoor kind of guy, spending most of his life in Missouri and Iowa as a mechanic and farming. He was a wheeler dealer kind of guy who loved to go to yards sales and auctions at McMain’s in Kirksville. He was one who could always seek out a deal when it came finding a vehicle. Wayne also enjoyed fishing, music and dancing at the VFW post 2508. He was extremely fond of dogs and is especially missed by his dog Coco.

Wayne’s wishes were for cremation with A Simplified Funeral Solution in Green Castle, Missouri.

A Memorial service with carry in dinner is planned for 2:00 pm on Sunday August, 25, 2019 at the Novinger Fire house in Novinger,Missouri
