Obituary for Eleanor Sharlene Rowland (Collins)
Eleanor Sharlene Rowland, 85, of Queen City, Mo. passed away quietly on Friday the 20th of Sept, 2019 surrounded by family and friends.
Born Oct 19,1933 in Worthington, MO. she was the youngest daughter of Cleo and Maude Collins.
She was united in marriage to Guy W. Rowland of Graysville, Mo. To this union five children were born. Vance and wife Bonnie Rowland of Hurdland, Mo. Mike Rowland (deceased) of Chandler, Az. Rhonda and husband Joe Davis of Queen City, Mo. Judy and husband Jim Yearns of Queen City, Mo. Chris and Brandi Rowland of Mesa, Az. Sharlene had 10 Grandchildren: Ben and wife Deanna Rowland of Memphis, Mo. Jason Rowland of Fairfield, Ia. Wyatt Rowland of Fairfield, Ia. Adam Ruggles (deceased) of Kirksville, Mo. Matthew Ruggles (deceased) of Columbia, Mo. Stefan and wife Candy Rowland of Queen City, Mo. Seth Rowland (deceased) of Queen City, Mo. Stefanie and husband Craig Parsons of Kirksville, Mo. Kayleigh and significant other Bryce Gladbach of Atlanta, Mo. Wade Yearns of Queen City, Mo. 6 Great grandchildren: Dayton and Marshall Rowland, Marissa Wilcox, Grace Rowland, Staylee Rowland and Emma Parsons.
Sharlene was preceded in death by her parents and all siblings, husband, one son, three grandsons and her oldest and dearest friend Rowena Buster.
She graduated from Unionville, Mo and lived most of her life in Putnam and Schuyler Counties. She was an avid reader, a fantastic cook, enjoyed flower gardening, working at the Martinstown Store and hearing the stories the guys shared. Sharlene will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She will be cremated and then interred at Pleasant Home Cemetery. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
