Obituary for Kathleen Marie "Kathy" Heller (Plate)

Kathleen (Kathy) Marie Heller was called to be home with God on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, Missouri.

Kathy was born September 03, 1941 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Arthur and Lydia Plate of Oconomowoc, WI.
Kathy learned quickly too make new friends and have many life experiences as she In the Heller family lived in various communities in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.

While Kathy had many work experiences, one always close to her heart was working with the developmentally disabled consumers at Wider opportunities in Lewis County and the Chariton Valley Association in Kirksville. Kathy was a longtime advisor for the Kirksville Chapter of People First of Missouri, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Faith Lutheran Church of Kirksville Missouri.

Kathy loved her family, especially the holidays and spending them together with family in Wisconsin. She had a sense of adventure and enjoyed nature by camping boating or just enjoying the lakes. Kathy was devoted and faithful to precious cats and dog.

Kathy is survived by her husband sixty plus years, Ron Heller of Green City, Missouri; one daughter, Dawn Neil and husband Jeff of Canton, Missouri; sons, Donald Heller and wife Cheri of Mexico, Missouri; Duane Heller and wife Britainy of Green City, Missouri, Daryl Heller and wife Julie of Travelers Rest , South Carolina; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Roger Plate of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; one sister, Karen Bresnehan and husband Dennis of Dousman, Wisconsin and brother, Jack Plate of Racine, Wisconsin along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathy’s wishes were for cremation with A Simplified Funeral Solution in Green Castle, Missouri.

A Memorial Service in her honor will be held Saturday August 22, 2020 at Faith Lutheran Church in Kirksville at 11:00am a visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00am.

Memorials are suggested to The Alzheimer’s Association or The Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, Missouri.
